Saying goodbye...

Today we are going up to Leavenworth for Grandma Gwen's memorial service. Grandma, Uncle Bo's grandma really, was a remarkable women for sure. Known for her warm, kind eyes, big heart, and even bigger hugs, Grandma Gwen taught many people what it meant (and how it felt) to be loved whole-heartedly.
The Wenatchee World has an online guest book for Grandma, and in reviewing the many entries there, I came across one by Rob Vickery (from Redmond, WA). He says it much better than I ever could: "Some are sent here to do hard work and good work because they have the necessary strength for the hard work and the necessary love for the good work. She always had a stern word when you needed one and a kind word and a cookie when you didn’t. Her fingerprints are on so many of us. Her kitchen offered hearty food as well as lessons in life and was always open. Each serving was plated with love. She wasn’t Mother Teresa but she will always be remembered by her circus kids as Mama Gwen."
Now, I was never involved in the Wenatchee Youth Circus, but I was lucky enough to be related to this great lady (even if it is in a round-about kinda way). There is no doubt that her all-encompassing love was inherited by the many members of her large, extended family. We Wulf's were always welcomed with smiles and hugs to each and every family gathering, from birthday parties to cousins parties.
Grandma Gwen was loved by all of us, she will be missed by all of us, and we cherish her memory.

The pre-holiday rush?

The last few weeks we have just been doing the same old stuff. One day in October we met our Poppa and our cousins (Meeka, Peyton, & Paddy) downtown to help clean the Art on the Avenues' statues for Make a Difference Day. That same day Mommy took us to see the Moscow Ballet's performance of Sleeping Beauty. It was kinda cool, but there wasn't any talking, so I wasn't really sure what was going on. For Halloween I dressed up in my Cats costume (from last year) and Maeghan dressed up as a witch (she even sprayed her hair green!!). Like we do every year, we went up to Miss Staci's for trick-or-treating, yummy food, and hanging out with our friends. This is the first year in a long time that Mommy & Daddy both dressed up in costumes, so we all had a really good time. That same weekend we got to see High School Musical on ice down at the arena. We knew all the songs (even Daddy), so we had fun singing along! Then, the day after that I had my class concert (all four third grade classes)... it wasn't a play like last year, we just sang some songs about some of the stuff we've been learning in school this year. We have been going to more hockey games (the Wild won all three games against Wichita) and Mommy took sis to the first Wenatchee Fire soccer game last weekend. I wasn't there because I got to go hunting with Dad. We were going to go goose hunting, but we ended up going duck hunting instead. It was still fun, but I really like to smash the honkers!
